Landing in the water, Dash despairs that he, Violet, and Helen are all going to die, but Helen sternly tells the two to get a grip otherwise, she will ground them. The three then fall from the sky, but Helen then grabs the two and turns her body into a parachute. Helen is forced to save her children's lives by wrapping herself around Dash and Violet just as the missiles slam into the plane, destroying the aircraft. During the flight, missiles, sent by Syndrome, close in on the plane, causing Dash to become worried about getting killed by the missiles. When Helen finds them in the plane, the siblings argue on who's fault it is, and Helen is shocked that they have left Jack-Jack alone in their house, to which Violet replies that she got a school friend to take care of the baby. The two siblings end up stowing away on a plane Helen has borrowed from a friend. Dash then goes after his mother, wanting to find out what his mother is up to, with Violet following him, trying to stop him. As she does, Dash sees the suit made for him and puts it on, naming himself The Dash. After Bob returns from Nomanisan Island, they are seen playing slot car racing and catch (the latter foreshadows a later event).Īfter Bob is captured by Syndrome on his return to Nomanisan Island, Helen packs her bags to rescue him after a brief visit with superhero fashion designer Edna Mode. Helen apologizes to the children for waking them up before ushering them back to bed. Bob feels the wind, which makes him sense Dash's presence in the same room he and Helen are, and assures the children that he and Helen work as a team, no matter what. Dash squirts water at Lucius for him to freeze it – a tradition between the two.Īfter Dash's father, Bob Parr, returns from his night with Lucius, Dash and Violet hear their parents arguing loudly and rush into the scene to investigate. The fight is broken up when Lucius Best (Frozone), a long-time family friend, rings the doorbell. This erupts into a fight, in which Dash runs around the table, hitting Violet, and Violet retaliates by generating her force-field that Dash crashes into. Dash is excused by Principal Walker, infuriating Bernie.Īt dinner, he teases Violet about her crush on her classmate, Tony Rydinger, which insults her. Bernie shows a tape of the incident, but Dash performs the act too quickly for anyone to spot him. In the sequel, Dash's personality is basically the same, though he does seem to take school more seriously. Through fighting bad guys together, he has also improved his relationship with his sister, no longer bullying her with his powers and annoying her less frequently. He was allowed to partake in sports under the condition he holds back to give others a chance, a promise he kept. His mother forbids it on account that "everyone's special" (noted by Dash to be the equivalent of saying "no one is").Īfter the battle against Syndrome and the Omnidroid, perhaps due to his near death experiences, Dash has learned to keep his ego in check. His goal is to compete in sports: his power of speed would make him special. He agrees with his father's belief that he shouldn't be ashamed of his abilities or need to hide them, believing it makes him special, however, his mother disagrees. Dash annoys her frequently, even using his powers to bully her at times as another way to vent his frustration, which has somewhat strained their relationship.ĭash often gets into trouble and loves playing pranks on his least favorite teacher, Mr. Dash's reckless nature and one-track mind also gets him into trouble with his big sister, Violet. As a result, he took to using his abilities to throw pranks without getting caught to test his limits, causing him to become somewhat of a problem child. Due to society rejecting Supers, he struggles to find a way to vent his energy, not being allowed to partake in sports as it could expose their identities and it would be unfair for other kids. Dash is, as described by his mother as "a very competitive boy, and a bit of a showoff".
